Kumbabhishekam, Maharudram, Shata Chandi & SV Puja
The Divine Revival of the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple at Veppur near Vellore marked a momentous milestone in spiritual restoration. This centuries-old temple, believed to be over 700 years old, was revived to its ancient glory through the grace of the Divine and the tireless dedication of a GRD member, following his sacred Kailash Yatra with Guruji Sri Ramesh Natarajan. Newly established shrines for Lord Shiva and Ambal beautifully complemented the temple’s grandeur, symbolizing unity and divine completeness.
The five-day Kumbhabhishekam festival, held from 22nd to 26th June 2022, witnessed an inspiring sequence of Vedic ceremonies led by the GRD Global Team, bringing together around 150 members from across the world.
- Day 1 (June 22): Initiated with Vigneswara Puja, Go Puja, and various homams including Lakshmi and Navagraha Homam. The sacred Nayanomeelanam ritual (opening of the Deity’s eyes) was performed with devotion.
- Day 2 (June 23): In the divine presence of Guruji Sri Ramesh Natarajan, Guruma Smt. Sridevi Gayathri Ramesh, and Sri Srinivasan Subramanyam, the Prana Prathishta of the newly installed deities—Shankara Narayana Balambika and Vishnu Durga—was completed. A moving moment graced the temple when visually challenged classical singer Smt. Gayathri Shankaran rendered a soulful hymn during the installation of the Shankara Narayana Lingam.
- Day 3 (June 24): Devotees performed Ganapathi Puja, Rudra Parayanam, Lalitha Sahasranama Archana, and Suvasini Puja, culminating in the sacred Kumbhabhishekam, sanctifying the temple towers and deities.
- Day 4 (June 25): The day featured Durga Saptashati Parayanam and a grand Sri Chakra Navavarana Puja with over 40 participants. Guruji led the Sri Vidya Homam, radiating spiritual energy, followed by an address by noted journalist Mr. Rangaraj Pandey, who lauded the GuruCool’s service to Sanatana Dharma.
- Day 5 (June 26): The festival concluded with Navagraha, Rudra, and Chandi Homams, and the Vasordhara ceremony — symbolizing unending divine grace. The closing Pradosha Puja, Kalasabhishekam, and Ashtavadhana Seva imbued the evening with reverence and gratitude.
The sacred space of the temple became a confluence of light, sound, and spiritual resonance. Chanting of Vedic mantras, fragrance of incense, rhythmic homam offerings, and heartfelt devotion created an atmosphere steeped in divine energy. The presence of Guruji and Guruma infused every moment with serenity, while the rituals and collective prayer elevated the spiritual consciousness of all present.
The global GRD community came together in remarkable unity to support and serve the festival. The participation of members across continents reflected their shared devotion and organizational strength. Musical and devotional talent found soulful expression, notably through the divine rendition by Smt. Gayathri Shankaran. Esteemed guest Mr. Rangaraj Pandey’s presence and his felicitation of Guruji with the Lifetime Excellence Award highlighted the deep respect for GRD GuruCool’s contribution to Sanatana Dharma.
Devotees experienced profound inner transformation and shared a deep sense of fulfillment from witnessing the temple’s revival. Many described the atmosphere as divinely charged, where rituals like the Sri Vidya Homam and Chandi Homam evoked feelings of purification and renewal. Remote participants who viewed the live telecast also expressed gratitude for being spiritually connected despite the distance.
The Kumbhabhishekam celebration at Veppur was more than a temple restoration—it was a reaffirmation of faith, devotion, and community spirit. Through the blessings of Devi Durga, Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari, and Lord Rudra—embodying Will (Iccha Shakti), Wisdom (Jnana Shakti), and Action (Kriya Shakti)—devotees found harmony, peace, and spiritual elevation. The event stands as a timeless testament to Guruji and Guruma’s vision of nurturing spiritual awakening through collective devotion and selfless service.
